Photo Contest – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Condition (“Terms and Conditions”) is provided by Sony Middle East and Africa FZE (“Sony”) for the Photograph Competition under theme Candid Moments: Capture genuine, unposed moments that tell a story(“Competition”).

By participating in this Competition, the individual acknowledges and affirms that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions. The Entrant further agrees that these Terms and Conditions are applicable to them and shall be binding for any matter or purpose associated with or connected to this Competition, including data practices outlined in the Privacy Policy, available at https://alphauniverse-mea.com/privacy-policy/ (“Privacy Policy”) and Terms and Conditions. It is essential that you review the Privacy Policy to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Sony will utilize your personal data.

1. Entry to the Competition is open to all individuals who:
   • are aged 18 years and above and
   • are legal residents of the country, where this Competition is being offered (“Entrants”) in Middle East and Africa region.

2. To enter to the Competition, Entrants must;
   • be a member to https://alphauniverse-mea.com/;
   • have fully updated their profile to 100%;
   • subscribe to receive promotional and marketing communication from
   • upload 3 best photos to the Portfolio with hash tag #AUPHOTOCONTEST2024.

3. To submit photos for this Competition, Entrants to:
   • Log in to your Alpha Universe Account.
   • Navigate to the Dashboard by selecting it from the Menu area under your name.
   • Access your Portfolio from the Dashboard.
   • Upload your photos to the Portfolio.
   • Tag your top photos with
     • Photo description
     • Camera Used
     • Lens Used
     • Exposure
     • ISO
     • Genre
   • Complete the submission process.

4. This Competition will run from 00:01 (UAE time) 1^st March 2024 until 23:59 (UAE time) 30^th April 2024 (the “Competition Period”). Sony reserves the right to revise the Competition Period at its sole discretion.
5. The Winner of Competition will be announced on 10 May 2024.

6. Winner Selection and Notification:
   • 1 winner will be judged by Sony (“Winner”).
   • The Winner will be contacted by email (which is associated to the Entrant’s Account). The winner will also be announced on our https://alphauniverse-mea.com/ and social media pages.
   • The Winner must respond within 5 (five) days of contact to confirm acceptance of the Prize. Failure to respond will result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected by Sony at its sole discretion.
   • For the Purpose of validation and verification, Winner will be required to send a copy of the passport/national ID in order to claim the Prize.

7. The Winner will receive 1 Sony Camera (A7CR) along with a Sony Lens (1635GM2) (“Prize)”.

8. General Conditions:
   • The winner is responsible for ensuring they meet all the entry requirements.
   • The Entrants must submit their original, which may not be (i) inappropriate, offensive, libelous or defamatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, unlawful or plagiarized, as determined by Sony in its sole discretion; (ii) must not be harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, profane, obscene, excessively violent, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or offensive in any way, as determined by Sony in its sole discretion; (iii) may not violate or encourage others to violate any applicable law, statute, ordinance or regulation; (iv) may not defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights or any other third party rights; and (v) may not use any watermarks or distinguishing artist marks (such as signatures).
   • The prize shall be non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternatives.
   • Sony reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equal or greater value at its sole discretion.
   • Sony reserves the right to disqualify any individual, if Sony has grounds to believe the Entrant has breached any of these Terms and Condition, acted fraudulently or illegally, or on other reasonable grounds and shall have no liability for any loss or damage arising from such rejection.
   • Sony reserves the right to modify the Terms and Condition, suspend, extend and/or terminate this Competition at any time without prior notice.
   • By participating in the Competition, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sony its affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising out of or related to their participation in the Competition or the Prize.
   • These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Dubai, UAE. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
