Terms & Conditions

These Competition Terms and Condition (“T&C”) are provided by Sony Middle East and Africa FZE (“Sony”) for the Photograph Competition themed “Celebrate Saudi National Day94” (“Competition”).

By participating in this Competition, you acknowledge and affirm that you have read and understood these T&C. You further agree that these T&C are applicable and shall be binding for any matter or purpose associated with or connected to this Competition, including data practices outlined in the Privacy Policy, available at https://alphauniverse-mea.com/privacy-policy/ (“Privacy Policy”) and T&C. It is essential that you read the Privacy Policy to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Sony will utilize your personal information.

    1. Eligibility: The Competition is open to all citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are 18 years of age and older.
    2. How to Participate:
      1. Follow @SonyMEA page on Instagram.
      2. Upload your own photos or videos celebrating Saudi National Day and add tag @SonyMEA using the below hashtag in the caption of your Instagram post

      3. Also Like, comment, and share it via Instagram stories and add tag @SonyMea.
      4. You may submit as many entries as you like. Photos or videos can be captured with camera.
    3. Competition Period: This Competition will run from 19th August 2024 at 1000 Hrs until 28th September 2024 at 2200 Hrs (the “Competition Period”). Sony reserves the right to revise the Competition Period at its sole discretion.
    4. Winner Announcement: The winner will be announced on 1st October 2024 at 1000 Hrs on Sony MEA Instagram page.
    5. Prize: The Winner will receive 1 Sony Camera (A7CII) along with a Sony Lens (SEL2450G) (“Prize”).
    6. Winner Selection and Notification:
      1. 1 winner will be judged by Sony (“Winner”).
      2. The Winner will be contacted by directly via Instagram DM from where the photos/videos were posted on Instagram. The Winner must respond within 2 (two) days of the announcement to confirm acceptance of the Prize. Failure to respond will result in disqualification.
      3. To claim the Prize, the Winner must provide a copy of their National ID for verification purposes.
    7. General Conditions:
      1. Entries submitted outside the Competition Period will not be considered.
      2. The participants must follow all the steps mentioned in this Terms and Condition to qualify for the Prize. Failure to comply with all conditions will result in disqualification. The participant is responsible for ensuring that they meet all the requirements mentioned in this T&C.
      3. The participant must submit their original photos or videos, which will not be (i) inappropriate, offensive, libelous or defamatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, unlawful or plagiarized, as determined by Sony in its sole discretion; (ii) must not be harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, profane, obscene, excessively violent, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or offensive in any way, as determined by Sony in its sole discretion; (iii) may not violate or encourage others to violate any applicable law, statute, ordinance or regulation; (iv) may not defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights or any other third party rights; and (v) may not use any watermarks or distinguishing artist marks (such as signatures).
      4. The participant shall retain ownership of their original photos or videos but grant Sony a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to alter, change, modify, duplicate, reproduce, copy, use, distribute, display and upload such photos or videos for promotional and marketing purposes.
      5. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternatives.
      6. Sony reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another of equal or greater value at its sole discretion.
      7. Sony reserves the right to disqualify any individual, if Sony has grounds to believe the participant has breached any of these Terms and Condition, acted fraudulently or illegally, or on other reasonable grounds and shall have no liability for any loss or damage arising from such rejection.
      8. Sony’s decisions on any matter relating to the competition and/or any order arising from these T&C, including the determination of the Winner, is final and will not be entered in any related correspondence.
      9. This Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram.
      10. Sony reserves the right to modify the Terms and Condition, suspend, extend and/or terminate this Competition at any time without prior notice.
      11. By participating in the Competition, participant agree to release and hold harmless Sony its affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising out of or related to the Competition or the Prize.
      12. These T&C shall be governed by the laws of Dubai, UAE and any disputes arising out of or in connection with the T&C shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
